Whydah Gally is the first ever pirate shipwreck with its identity having been established and authenticated. She hit a sandbar and violently capsized in a storm in 1717 of the coast of Massachusetts sending over 4 tons of silver and gold, more than 60 cannons, and 144 people to the ocean floor.
