Whydah

$69.00

Whydah Gally is the first ever pirate shipwreck with its identity having been established and authenticated.

She hit a sandbar and violently capsized in a storm in 1717 of the coast of Massachusetts sending over 4 tons of silver and gold, more than 60 cannons, and 144 people to the ocean floor.

This raw industrial-looking pendant reminds me of a shipwreck though, hence the name. Bare beams and rust glistening under the surface of the water.

In reality this is a botanical work. Talk about concept vs. execution!

Sterling silver, resin, paprika powder, dried rosemary. 1″x0.3″. Comes on an 16″ sterling silver chain.

For a few months I’ve been creating a summer collection of fun, colorful, pop-artsy, and three-dimensional mixed-metal, mixed-media art jewelry called Making Waves and there are pieces in almost every respective category in my Menu!
